2011 is World Veterinary Year
We know that there are hundreds of vets in our community that do amazing work to keep our pets happy and healthy. This year, the veterinary profession will celebrate its 250th anniversary, and the whole world is celebrating, including Congress!
On December 8, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 1531- the resolution to designate 2011 as World Veterinary Year. This resolution recognizes and brings attention to the important role veterinarians play in the lives of Americans, from taking care of our beloved pets to ensuring the safety of the food we eat and working with our Armed Forces to help countries establish healthy productive agricultural systems, American veterinarians serve the American public.
We want to celebrate by acknowledging the work of some of the outstanding veterinarians in our community. Tell us what makes your vet great by sending their names and why you love them to stories@emancipet.org by Monday, April 4th.
